Lauren is a qualified Veterinary Nurse who graduated from Onderstepoort in 2003. Her career began in KwaZulu-Natal, where she gained valuable experience working with small animals. She then broadened her expertise overseas, spending two years at a leading neurology referral centre in London.

In 2007, Lauren returned to South Africa and transitioned into equine care, working as an equine nurse in Summerveld with a focus on thoroughbred racehorses. Her passion for animal rehabilitation led her to complete advanced studies in animal physical rehabilitation in 2014. She went on to run her own rehabilitation centre in Hillcrest for four years, helping countless pets regain mobility and quality of life.

Lauren later joined a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Durban North as a Veterinary Physiotherapist and nurse, but the long commute eventually prompted a return to the Upper Highway area. At the end of 2024, she joined MediVet and established our brand-new Veterinary Physiotherapy Department, bringing her wealth of experience and specialised care to our patients.

Outside of work, Lauren is mum to two energetic young boys and two golden retrievers with an enthusiastic obsession for water and tennis balls. She’s an avid trail runner and a competitive obstacle course racer, taking on challenges across the country with the same determination she brings to her work.
